Debbie and Jeff

I have spent my entire life intrigued, fascinated, entertained and professionally and personally inspired by people.
Some interesting points of life along the way:

  • Co-hosted a weekly children’s TV show from ages 12-15 (what a great job!)
  • Competitive gymnast until age 20 (bumps, bruises & broken bones to prove it!)
  • Broadcast Journalism major and Sociology minor (Go Penn State!)
  • Career in sales from 1989 – 1998 (learned the craft!)
  • Started a JobFit employee assessment business in 1998 (fantastic leap of faith!)
  • Married Jeff and moved to Tampa, FL USA in 2001 (good move!)

My fascination with Emotional Intelligence started long before I even knew that it had a formal name. Doing TV (especially LIVE TV when you are 12), competing in gymnastics, earning a living in sales and being married all taught me to address, and work to manage my emotions.

Thirty years of work has led me to this point and now, as an Authorized Distributor for Genos International and as a Certified Emotional Intelligence Practitioner, I have the opportunity to work with coaches, consultants and trainers, Organizational Development Specialists, Human Resources Professionals and Corporate Trainers – enabling them to fill this need of advancing Emotional Intelligence inside of their client companies and organizations.

Oh, and, just a side-bar…I love yoga, snow and water skiing, sports of all kind, college football (Go Nittany Lions!) great murder mysteries (especially series books), great wine, comedies (Animal House), Super Hero movies, racking up steps on my FitBit, spoiling our Basset Hound, Humphrey, and Jeff.

In 1985 when I was a senior in college, I read the book “How to win Friends and Influence People”. I identified so strongly with the book’s message – being authentic and genuine, admit to mistakes quickly, make others feel important to name a few – that since that reading, I have labored to adhere to those principles both professionally and personally.
Some interesting points of life along the way:

  • HS Football player
  • Double Major in Business and Economics (Go St. Ambrose University!)
  • Realization that professional fulfillment is comprised of:
    • Total belief in, and passion for, the products and services I represent
    • Affiliation with great people
    • Maximization of my strengths and interests
  • Career in sales 1985-1996 (learned “the ropes”)
  • Started a JobFit employee assessment business in 1996 (great to be my own boss!)
  • Married Debbie and moved to Tampa, FL USA in 2001 (good move!)

My interest in Emotional Intelligence started in 1985 when I began paying attention to, and applying the ideas that I learned from my reading.

Now, as an Authorized Distributor for Genos International and as a Certified Emotional Intelligence Practitioner, I have the opportunity to work with coaches, consultants and trainers, Organizational Development Specialists, Human Resource Professionals and Corporate Trainers – enabling them to fill this need of advancing Emotional Intelligence inside of their client companies and organizations.

So, I have come full circle – my strengths and talents are aligned with my belief and passion for the products and services I am able to offer to others.

And, in case you are interested in what I’m also interested in…The world series champions Chicago Cubs (Go Cubs Go!), I love golf, college football (Go Iowa Hawkeyes!), March Madness, yoga, funny movies (Caddyshack and Animal House!), food, our basset Hound Humphrey, and Debbie (did I mention that I love golf?)

About Red Diamond

image3Red Diamond Solutions is the product of almost 30 years of work experience in dealing with people – the last 20 years devoted to helping organizations in North America put the right people into the right positions through the use of employee assessments. Our clients widely range in employee size, industry, revenue, location, culture and style – yet they all share a significant commonality: People. It’s People who make organizations successful.

We are proud to bring the Genos Model of Emotional Intelligence to North America. In thousands of discussions with our prospects and clients during the last 20 years, many conversations were devoted to Leadership and Employee Engagement…more than just a set of skills, professionals were talking about how people treat each other and how their most impactful, successful Leaders and employees are people who understood how to work with others productively…how to make others feel valued and appreciated. These successful individuals are people who are very aware of themselves and others, and who are trustworthy and inspiring.

Research shows that the way we feel influences the way we think and the decisions we make, both productively and unproductively. Emotions also influence the way we behave-in our tone of voice, our facial expressions and in our body language, and because of this, they are fundamental to how we interact, collaborate, communicate and work in a team in the work place. Finally, the way that we feel influences the way that we perform.

What is Emotional Intelligence and why is it so important? It is a set of abilities that help us perceive and understand the way we feel and the way others feel, along with our ability to effectively regulate and manage emotions.  Emotional intelligence abilities help us pick up on the way we’re feeling and modify our decisions, behavior and performance at work so that we are thinking our best, behaving our best and performing our best at work.

As an Authorized Distributor for Genos International and as Certified Emotional Intelligence Practitioners, it is our passion and mission to work with Coaches, Consultants and Trainers, Human Resources Professionals, Organizational Development Specialists and Corporate Trainers. – enabling them to fill the need of advancing Emotional Intelligence inside of their client companies and organizations.
